Double life, double frustration.
From all the different personas I am - wait, you’re just one person all of the time? Boo you! - two of them have been taking front stage this past week: the live-in-nanny and the about-to-be-graduate-student, the latter is also an international student so yay for extra paper work regarding graduate school finances and overall life. As “simple” as the live-in-nanny life may seem,...

The lock and the time
I thought starting grad school was going to be the death of me. Apparently applying for loans to pay for said grad school will be the death of me. Loans unlock the visa process, people who take care of visas are really into deadlines; lenders like to take their time. I loose my sleep.  The End.

Spring and smells
Compared to people who suffer from seasonal allergies I should be thankful about the overall rise in temperatures and just shut up, but what really bothers me about spring is the smell of fresh mulch. My brain looks at all the flowers and expects, well, nice smells - very poetic and articulate with words, aren’t I?! Instead there it is, the stench of mulch. First world problems you guys.

Does College Make You Liberal -- or Do Liberals... →
I’m not one to discuss politics but… “If anything, when it comes to the liberalism of academia, much of the causation may well run in the opposite direction from the one that Santorum assumes. Rather than colleges making people liberal, liberals may instead make colleges the way they are by choosing to attend and, even more importantly, choosing to stay and pursue advanced...

“Brené Brown studies human connection — our ability to empathize, belong, love. In a poignant, funny talk at TEDxHouston, she shares a deep insight from her research, one that sent her on a personal quest to know herself as well as to understand humanity.” “When you talk to people about love, they tell you about heartbreak. When you ask people about belonging, they will...
