"Aaawwwnnn that is sooo cuuuute!"

I witnessed something last night I believe is worth sharing.

Most of you don’t know this, but one of my personas is a live-in nanny. I’ve been with this family for a long time. Such a long time that sometimes I think they are my family.

Last night, youngest kid (she is 13) and I were watching Pretty Little Liars - yes I watch PLL and regret nothing, you should watch it too! - when Emily and Maya said “I love you” to each other for the first time. While youngest kid’s reaction wasn’t a total surprise for me I couldn’t help but feel proud to hear her saying:“awwwwnnn that is sooooo cuuuute!” the same way she does when a cute straight couple gets together in any other show we watch.

This gives me hope. Hope that people one day will be able to do the same as “my” 13 year old and look at two people together and see a couple, regardless of sex or gender.

About Me

I live in Baltimore, but I'm from Brazil. Watermelon is my favorite fruit, but I can’t settle on any other “just one favorite” choices. I love volleyball, but I haven’t played in a while. I love books, but I don’t really read all the time. I avoid watching movies that I know will make me cry, but I end up crying watching the ones I didn’t think I would anyways. I love cooking, but the results of my cooking are always a surprise. I absolutely need a pillow between my legs to fall asleep at night, but for naps I’m fine without it. I think going to the movies alone is empowering, but sometimes it's just plain sad. I like to think I’m not addicted to coffee, but if I don’t have any at least once a day I have withdrawal symptoms. I love dresses, but I don’t own a single one. I’m trying to figure things out, these are the ones I was able to do it so far. I’m still working on all the other ones.
